StarCraft has been proved to make gamers smarter


A new study again highlights the positive effect related information that can be generated from gaming craze. According to the facts, play games genre of real-time strategy (RTS) can help people think faster.

It’s not a new thing to understand, the people who love to play games with dexterity have a tendency to develop non-gaming process their perceptions. However, researchers at Queen Mary University and University College London seems to want to prove that the complex with a fast tempo game that requires a lot of multitasking portion and thinking quickly, able to help the non-gamers in increasing competence at a higher level such as cognitive flexibility.

In this study, the researchers divided a group of students who are not gamers into two that play StarCraft and The Sims. Observations on this matter done intensely during the past two months, which is then followed by a series of exams is non-game/academics.

As the results obtained, the researchers found that subjects who played StarCraft able to do his job with higher cognitive flexibility than those who play The Sims.

"Previous research has demonstrated that the action game, a kind of Hello, can accelerate decision-making, ‘call Dr. Brian Glass, as one of its researchers. "The present study found that real-time strategy games can encourage our ability to think quickly and learn from past mistakes."
