There are various opinions about when the most appropriate time to do exercise. Most mention the morning is the best time, while some have argued afternoon or evening more effectively burn calories in a day.
If only, the experts can find out when most ideal time to burn calories as well as health benefits. Unfortunately, the ideal time is not too obvious.
A study published in the journal Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise actually mention that each time the sport has different benefits.
Studies conducted in 2012 was done by measuring how the response of a woman's body after exercising in the morning. There were 17 participants who have the ideal body mass index and 18 participants were obese.
They were asked to do a brisk walk for 45 minutes. When finished, it turns out they are not too distracted by the photos of mouthwatering food compared to participants who did not exercise at all.
Another advantage of the participants were exercising in the morning is they are more physically active throughout the day. The benefits do not stop there. Exercising in the morning will push your metabolism so that calories are burned throughout the day much more than exercising at night before bed.
According to Lara Carlson, Ph.D., of the American College of Sports Medicine, if we do the exercise with the aim to form the body or improve health, studies show that early morning is the best time.
"For weight loss is a little controversial, but there are other studies that compared exercise morning and evening. Apparently their morning exercise have lower blood pressure and sleep more soundly," he said.
Carlson added that sleep is a time when the body repair itself. "Sleeping will also reduce stress, it certainly affects the weight," he said.
Instead, the evening exercise also has benefits. This is demonstrated by a study in 2010 that analyzed the influence of the biological clock on athletic performance. Body temperature and the environment will increase in the late afternoon, as well as enzyme activity and muscle function. Therefore, if we exercise at 14:00 to 18:00 pm, then the result will be more profitable.
In the afternoon, we also have more energy than the effort to get up early and exercise. In addition, we also only takes 20 minutes to increase endorphins so that we become more relaxed after a solid rushing in office.
"If I had to choose, then I prefer to exercise in the morning. However, we do not have to do it if we did not used to get up early. Important thing is we take the time to exercise, at any time," he said.
